blitz bar installation

LED bars · Makrolon diffusion panels · Custom rigging · Raspberry Pi control · Blitz Club, Munich · 2025 – 2026

An installation for the lower of the club's two bars, in place since October 2025. LED bars sit behind Makrolon diffusion panels on a rigging system built for the piece; a Raspberry Pi drives the whole thing. The panels pull every point of light into a horizontal band, so the bar front reads as a screen with almost no resolution — and what it shows depends on where you are standing.

For the club's closing weekend the duo prepared an additional lighting piece for the Bistro floor.

An eight-metre LED bar with four lighting axes, developed for Surge and shown for a single night at Rote Sonne. Three prototype clips documented the build before the piece was installed. VECTOR: Iteration II followed in February 2025.

The studio's debut exhibition. In three installations, light, sound and reflection open new experiential spaces and allow for a holistic and individual experience of the space in between. Several weekends of live acts and live audio-visual shows accompanied the month-long exhibition.

A three-metre cymatic table with a light source suspended above it. Four transducers set the water on the surface vibrating; the type and intensity of the vibration is determined by the frequencies and bass pulses of the music. Reflection and refraction in the water create a surface between chaos and order. The percussive, almost atonal music programme was written by Oliver Albach with reference to the angular formal language of the installation.

Three hemispherical sculptures · Cymatic light altar · Metal plate, water, transducer · 2023

Three hemispherical sculptures with individual light sources, and a cymatic light altar: a metal plate covered with water, set in vibration by a transducer and lit both centrally from above and at an angle from the side. The musical principle was call and response — the three sculptures answered the altar continuously. The programme was written by Tino Heubach and consisted almost exclusively of tonal elements, in keeping with the circular formal language.

Six loudspeakers arranged in a circle, controllable together or individually, connected to two projection surfaces: one on the floor inside the speaker circle, one a rear projection screen facing it. Visual and acoustic components interact continuously, so the experience changes as visitors change position. Music by Oliver Albach, visual programme by Luis Meyer.

Presented by the omo collective: an abstract vision of a digitalized nature, where organic and synthetic visuals are produced through analogue and digital glitches. The installation was shown as a thirty-minute audio-visual live set with music by Oliver Albach, after which Arousal and 1022 played a b2b DJ set accompanied by the installation's visuals.

Approach

In Yoruba, ọmọ means child. The studio works the way that suggests: curious, experimental, playful with material, space and technology.

Luis Meyer and Oliver Albach have known each other for around seven years — they met at an illegal outdoor event. What began as event organisation and DJ livestreams turned into scenography, lighting design, audio-visual installations and music.
